The Red Room

Well, something must be crazy with this world because this painting makes it 2 posts in a month.

The Red Room - a source of quiet contemplation for one girl at night.

I originally tried colouring this differently, but in the end I went with something that had the bold contrasting silhouettes mixed in with a bit of detail on her. It just felt like it carried more emotional weight this way.

Purple girl

Here's a test I'm doing for yet another of my crazy projects in between doing the Deadly Alien Microbots.

Woman's face

Just a random picture of a girl. Nothing special.

More guitars

As promised, here's a colour version of my previous picture. It's nothing to shout about, but an improvement on previous colour piccies.

Guitar girl

I'm very pleased with this one. I reckon this is the best girly picture I've drawn yet. It almost makes me look like a real artist... as if!

Hey, I might even try colouring it in for a later post. It seems to be calling out for me to do it.

What do you think, guys and girls?

Oh, and please excuse the wonky feet. Maybe she's trying to do the splits?

Hot babe

Contrary from popular opinion, I don't have a one track mind. It's a two track mind!

Anyway, another cool pic from me that I'm really pleased with, even though it's quite a generic pose. I think I got most of the body right apart from the foot, which I spent too much time on.

The Sheers Of Doom

This all started as an attempt at drawing a woman - not just the face for once - and ended up as something I'm quite proud of. I'm a really big fan of the art of Frank Miller (ever since about three weeks ago) and this is probably my best attempt yet at emulating his style, especially that of Sin City, which I've yet to read, and learning how to draw at the same time.

Anyway, I drew her outline, chose this way of shading it, and then started adding the atmosphere. Don't ask me what the scary mechanical sheers are that she's running away from, but they sure scare me!

Well, it's not perfect but was a lot of fun to do. I ought to try drawing on paper next time, as using a computer to draw is too fiddly.
